Why should you support the Cross Currents Chamber Music and Arts Festival?

By founding the Cross Currents Chamber Music and Arts Festival, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra hopes to create a yearly, internationally recognized chamber music festival in Cary, North Carolina and the Triangle. A festival of this caliber will not only bring prestige and interest to Cary and the Triangle, but also a new kind of arts community will be formed. The word community is very important in thinking about supporting the Cross Currents Festival. It is the community of residents, businesses, restaurants, and foundations in Raleigh and Cary who through their contributions have already helped ensure this year's festival. Community is also the feeling that we, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, are inspired by for our vision of the festival.

Already in our first years as a true festival, both an international and a local community assembled to make music together. We are thrilled that past year’s festivals have included the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, Israeli cellist Gavriel Lipkind, Belgian Violinist Michael Guttman, the Belgian Pierre Anckaert trio, Atlanta based saxophonist Will Scroggs, as well as collaborations with local artists from the North Carolina Symphony and the Mallarme Chamber Players.

By supporting the Cary Cross Currents Chamber Music and Arts Festival you are helping to insure a diverse cultural offering for Cary and the entire Triangle during the summer months. This investment in cultural togetherness, both internationally and locally, is what makes the Cary Cross Currents Chamber Music and Arts Festival so exciting.

Together if we can dream it, together we can build it. Please dream with us, and build with us.

How can you support the Cross Currents Chamber Music and Arts Festival?

The Friends of the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, local organizer of the Cross Currents Festival, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  This means that monetary donations are tax deductible.  We are still actively looking for corporate and private sponsors.

We know that the financial situation for the whole world is a question mark at this moment.  This is why we are committed to building the festival not only through financial donations, but also community donations.  For example, the housing of artists is quite expensive.  To eliminate these costs, out of town artists, will be hosted by families in the Boylan Heights of Raleigh.  By graciously hosting artists, Boylan Heights is making an invaluable contribution to our arts community.  Likewise, local restaurants listed below will help feed artists throughout the festival.  Local lawyers have helped to file visa applications and our request for 501c3 status.  Local graphic artists are creating advertising and travel agents, airplane bookings.  As you can see, we are building this festival together as a community.  So, if you are unable to help financially, please think of a way you or your business might contribute.  Volunteered time and non-financial donations are why this festival already exists. Together we can invest in our community and its future.
